My Favorite Fall Recipes!

I know there are some out there that cringe at the first sign of colder weather, but for the rest of us, bring on the glorious fall season! If only we could make it stay around just a little longer. While crock pot meals quickly become the norm for my family as the temps drop, so do apple fritters for breakfast, the smell of cinnamon, and almost anything that involves nutmeg. There are so many great recipes out there, I thought I would share a few of my tried and true favorites!

Saturday mornings we do breakfast big. Mostly the traditional eggs, biscuits, omelets, bacon, coffee and once in a while crepes and muffins. When fall comes around, apple fritters are quickly added to the menu. These are so good, simple to make, and perfect for breakfast or brunch. You must give these a try! Apple Fritter Pancake Puppies Recipe

Another breakfast favorite worth mentioning, I got from a sweet friend I used to work with, and I have made a number of times since. This is also a simple one, and can be enjoyed as a dessert as well. Apple Pie Crescents Added benefit - these also make your kitchen smell amazing!

You can't mention fall desserts without including this popular one, that I believe is also somewhat nutritious and healthy - at least that is what I tell myself. Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies The pumpkin keeps them moist, so you can make them ahead of time and they will stay fresh tasting for days.

I realize most of my recipes involve sugar, so here is a sugar free option. As it gets closer to Halloween, carving pumpkins and roasting the seeds is a must! My favorite is when they are still warm straight out of the oven. These are so easy to prepare, and voila, a perfect healthy fall snack you will love! Roasted Pumpkin Seeds

For those of you that are just over it, regarding pumpkin spice lattes, look away now. I have never really been into the pumpkin spice latte craze, I actually prefer a shot of hazelnut myself, but years ago I made this recipe for an office party, and it quickly became a hit! Not only is it a lot healthier than what you buy at a coffee shop, but it can simmer in a crock pot as a perfect beverage to serve at any fall gathering like a pumpkin carving party, watching football, or enjoying a beautiful drive on the blue ridge parkway, to see the leaves changing. Slow-cooker Pumpkin Spice Latte - YUM!

These are just a few of my favorites. If you have any fall recipes you love, maybe some healthier ones ;) and want to share, leave a comment below. In the meantime, enjoy all there is to love about this wonderful season, before it's gone!
